La Porte Peinte’s tea room serves beguiling craft coffees custom-roasted for us by Arthur Audibert’s L’Alchimiste, exceptional Chinese, African and Indian teas from the UK’s Rare Tea Company, and organic drinking chocolate from the award-winning Rococo. We source our own Chinese flower teas and Japanese green teas, including matcha, in Japan and Hong Kong. For summer, we produce our own refreshing elderflower and hibiscus cordials. We offer extraordinary fruit nectars from Burgundy’s own Daniel Cachot, and chocolates, biscuits, spice-cake and other treats from a selection of carefully-chosen purveyors, among them Ahmed Hamdouni, a master pastry chef from Morocco. We employ the Sowden SoftBrew system for brewing coffee, and we also offer espresso. Our tea room patrons enjoy trying out the variety of seating areas spread throughout the gallery, settling in front of a roaring fire when the weather is cold, and relaxing at one of the outside tables when the weather is fine.
